Hybrid Heating Solutions: Paving the Way to Net Zero in Education
Matt Isherwood & Adam Wardley, Barker Associates & Kirsty Anthony, Shires Academy Trust
Join education property consultants Barker for an insightful session on hybrid low carbon heating systems. This presentation will explore the key drivers for adopting low carbon heating in the education sector, the limitations of heat-pump solutions, and the advantages of hybrid systems. Learn how bivalent systems can provide a scalable, reliable, and cost-effective solution for retrofitting existing educational buildings. Discover practical implementation strategies and real-world case studies that highlight the potential for significant carbon emission reductions and enhanced energy efficiency.
Optimising PV and Battery Storage design in school settings 2.0
Ram Joshi & Ian Keeling, Cundall
Photovoltaic (PV) arrays are a commonly used method for offsetting school energy use through on site renewables in order to meet the DfE’s net zero carbon in operation (NZCiO) standards. PVs are a well understood and cost effective technology. This presentation will illustrate the findings from current research and present a number of alternative design strategies, how these can be used to reach a more effective approach to PV design and the assessment methodology that validates and supports their use.
